Users reported being unable to access eBay.com on Thursday due to an issue with their Norton Anti-virus software. eBay posted an acknowledgement of the problem, although it did not identify Norton by name. eBay later said the issue had been resolved with the latest update of the vendor's virus definition files. eBay wrote, "If you are still experiencing this error, please download the latest updates for your software and you should no longer experience any problems."

The problem also affected other websites, and Norton acknowledged the problem in its forums.
