The 2009 Small Business Computing Excellence in Technology Awards is asking small businesses to vote for the best eBay alternative and storefront/shopping cart. The magazine chose four ecommerce sites from which voters can choose: Bonanzle, eCrater, Etsy and Wigix. Storefront/Shopping Carts include E-junkie; SearchFit eCommerce Platform v8; Volusion Gold Plan; and Yahoo Merchant Solutions Standard Plan. Voting runs through midnight, January 9, 2009, and the winners will be announced on January 28, 2009. Vote here

Alibris launched "Inventory Demand" for Gold sellers. The tool helps sellers to make pricing and acquisition decisions by providing data such as current for sale pricing data (including highest, lowest, and average prices), recommended list pricing, and the last ten sales across all of sales channels.

The site said it's up to 920,000+ live listings. Director Tony Newton said CQout is powering a new site (www.forcesbid.co.uk) (not owned or operated by them) that seeks to generate funds for the Help For Heroes campaign.
iOffer announced that international buyers can now conveniently browse the site and view item listings in their local currency. Users may click on the country name on the top right side of the page to update their country setting. "Prices are adjusted and estimated based on daily exchange rates. However, all negotiations and transactions are still completed in U.S. Dollars."
The Australian site Trading Post launched a new mobile shopping site. General Manager of Sensis Mobile Amanda Brook said, "With the new mobile search, bid and buy capability, Trading Post on your mobile offers real time access to all Trading Post inventory, including classifieds and auction ad listings. Australians can now find great bargains while they're on the go, or without having to leave the comfort of their couch." Trading Post said that for the first time in Australia, buyers and sellers can receive free SMS alerts informing them when their auction is ending, when they've won or been outbid, as well as being able to send any classified or auction ads to their mobile.
