Reading AuctionBytes: Infopia Hires New CEO for Ecommerce Services Firm

Infopia announced that Coleman Barney has joined the company as President and Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Bjorn Espenes, who will continue as a member of the Board of Directors for Infopia.

Coleman recently served as President and CEO of Cogito, a company focused on business intelligence solutions, and as President and CEO of Optura, an enterprise software company specializing in business process improvement. Prior to Optura, Coleman co-founded, SBI Razorfish, which was one of the largest interactive eBusiness professional services organizations in the country before it was sold to aQuantive in 2004 and subsequently purchased by Microsoft Corp.

Infopia had hired Heidrick & Struggles in June to find a new CEO. Espenes co-founded the company in 1999 and has run the company since 2000, and he will continue to be involved with the company. In a press statement, he said, "We looked for someone with a proven track record who could take the company to the next level. Coleman brings his results-oriented style to a business that saw record results in 2008 - a perfect combination."

Barney stated, "Infopia is well positioned to deliver robust eCommerce solutions to growing retailers. I'm excited about the upcoming strategies and offerings that will provide customers with an even greater ability to differentiate themselves from their competition."

Infopia provides ecommerce services to mid-market online merchants, helping them to optimize product sales across the Internet on their ecommerce website and on marketplaces such as eBay and Amazon.
