Vzaar said its video-hosting service helps customers optimize their websites when they load their videos onto its site. Previously Google search results would direct visitors to the video hosting service but now redirects visitors to the page where the video is embedded. Vzaar customers will gain the benefit of their videos being submitted to Google Search and seeing traffic driven straight to their website rather than to Vzaar.
After clients upload videos to Vzaar, they can add the URL of the page where the video is embedded along with a description. Vzaar automatically sends feeds to Google, and when a Google visitor searches for appropriate keywords, thumbnails of Vzaar's client videos are shown in the results page. Until recently, Google only showed Youtube video thumbnails in results pages.
Adrian Sevitz, CTO of Vzaar, said, "We recognise the importance of search and want to give our customers the best chance of being found online so we created this tool to assist in that process." He added, "Many of our customers are small businesses and rely heavily on organic search and this tool should assist not only in search but also increase their click through rates."
