Two former FedEx Kinkos executives are joining Warehouse86, a liquidation company founded by Paul St. James. Many eBay sellers and buyers know St. James as one of eBay's largest PowerSellers operating as Bargainland until he left eBay in late 2007. At the time, he said he felt eBay was moving away from volume liquidators in favor of the "sexier, cleaner Amazon-type space." Ironically, this week eBay said it was abandoning its strategy of becoming a retailer to focus instead on secondary markets.
Ken May and Bill Doherty are joining St. James' firm Warehouse86 Ventures LLC as Chairman and CEO, respectively. Ken May had most recently served as President and CEO of FedEx Kinko's Office and Print Services. Bill Doherty most recently served as Vice President of U.S. Operations for the Eastern Division for FedEx Kinko's Office and Print Services.
Bill Doherty stated in a press release, "Our goal is to eliminate what is now a cost center for so many manufacturers and retailers by liquidating products in an efficient, revenue generating model while offering consumers great deals."
The two said they plan a complete revamp of the business strategy, marketing and customer experience, which includes an overhaul of the Bidtopia.com website.
Warehouse86 Ventures, LLC includes reverse logistics solutions, Warehouse86; warehouse management system, The Gavel; online liquidator, Bargainland; and online auction platform, Bidtopia.com.
