Online sellers are typically concerned with the ways in which marketplaces allow shoppers to rate them. A new feedback program from Amazon.com on packaging may have had some third-party sellers concerned, but the program does not apply to them according to the program description.
Amazon.com describes the new Packaging Feedback Program as a tool to help it improve the way it ships packages to customers. "The Packaging Feedback Program is designed so you can tell us if your items arrived in good condition and in appropriate-sized packaging. We'll use your input to improve product and Amazon packaging." However, the company goes on to say, "Orders placed within the past 60 days and shipped by Amazon.com will appear on the Packaging Feedback page. Orders placed with third-party sellers on Amazon.com or orders marked as gifts won't appear in the list."
Amazon asks buyers to rate how well the packaging protected their items on a scale of 1 to 5, asks whether the box size and packaging were appropriate for the items (buyer can select About Right; Too Big; or Way Too Big); and can rate each item's packaging in terms of "Ease of Opening." Shoppers can also up load photos of their packages.
