Online Auction site JustBeads.com is ready to reopen after it experienced a catastrophic crash in December in which it lost 10 years of data. Bettina and Bob Jordan launched JustBeads.com on May 26, 1999, to create a virtual community for beaders. The husband-and-wife team has spent the last 5 months rebuilding the site, which will hold a grand reopening on Tuesday May 26, 2009.
JustBeads.com has issued the following statement:
At approximately 9:15AM on 12/14/08 The JustBeads.com site experienced a major disruption of service. In a matter of moments, we lost 10 years of data and history, including, among other things, member registration information. As a result, all members MUST complete our new simplified registration process.
We all suffered a devastating blow. The past 5 months have seen a lot of tears, frustration and anxiety. They have proven to be a long and difficult time for us all, but I must confess we never wavered in our commitment to see JustBeads back on line once again. I would like to personally thank all of our loyal friends and members for being so patient with us while we worked through this nightmare. We hope that you will enjoy the new look and many new features that are now part of the New JustBeads.com!
We look forward to re-kindling old friendships with you all! You have no idea how much I have missed corresponding with each and every one of you.
