eBay UK placed a ban on tickets for Michael Jackson concerts on Friday after learning the musician had passed away. The ban includes tickets listed as memorabilia. eBay UK also announced that any ticket purchases made during the previous 45 days and paid for with PayPal would be covered by PayPal Buyer Protection, and said it was reviewing the options for those who bought tickets before May 13th.
The company updated the announcement on Saturday to state that it would ensure that all buyers on the site could receive a full refund for their ticket purchase. In addition to extending its Buyer Protection to all Michael Jackson concert ticket purchases bought on eBay, it said it would refund eBay's sales commissions to sellers when they refund buyers for Michael Jackson ticket sales. Final details of how buyers and sellers could work with eBay and PayPal would be announced early this week, according to the announcement.
