Reading AuctionBytes: Etsy Connects with Facebook and Other Online Marketplace News

Here is a roundup of news coming from online marketplaces and eBay alternatives, including Etsy's new Facebook connection, OZtion ads, and Delcampe's exhibit at the August stamp show in Pittsburgh.

Etsy has launched "Facebook Connect," a feature that allows users to share their activities on Etsy with their friends. When they list an item or add an item to their favorites while connected with Facebook, they will see an option to display the action on their Facebook News Feed. Users who are not interested in connecting with Facebook from Etsy can remove the Facebook option by clicking the "don't show again" link on the Facebook Connect overlay. Facebook Connect is separate from the Etsy Shop application on Facebook. (Link)

OZtion created a Facebook fan page where it has been sharing information about its promotional activities. On Wednesday, the Australian auction site launched a new radio ad campaign that will first run throughout regional Queensland, according to the announcement. It also posted a video of a television commercial. (Link)

Delcampe will attend the APS Stamp Show in August. The American Philatelic Society organizes the event, held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, August 6 - 8, 2009. The show features more than 150 dealers displays and exhibits, seminars, and Postal Administrations and First Day Ceremonies, and admission is free. Delcampe, an international auction site based in Europe, will be giving away gifts at booth # 108-110. (Link)
