eBay Australia has entered into an agreement with a marketplace for services. Shoppers on eBay Australia who visit the new Services portal can continue to see eBay listings in categories such as "Transportation, Shipping," "Weddings, Parties," and "Lawn, Yard," or they may get a quote from a service provider, in which case they are seamlessly sent to the ServiceSeeking.com.au website.
ServiceSeeking.com.au allows shoppers to get quotes from professionals, contractors or freelancers in traditional services categories such as building, general trades, web design, photography, graphic design, accountancy and household services from over 11,000 businesses.
This is another case of eBay Australia directing shoppers off of its website as part of a partnership with a third-party provider. Earlier this year eBay Australia launched a music portal in which shoppers continue to have access to eBay's traditional music category items, but are sent to Universal Music Australia's website to listen to MP3s and to make digital music purchases.
