Toys "R" Us launched its Toys.com website as a shopping site with deals on toys and baby products sold on Toyrsus.com, Babiesrus.com, eToys.com and babyuniverse.com. The company said the site would offer a wide range of unadvertised and exclusive deals, many of which would appear on Toys.com before anywhere else on the web.
Toys.com will feature an exclusive "Deal of the Day" and will serve as a hub of information on the latest deals and promotions available both in the company's brick-and-mortar stores and on its various online sites.
Toys.com will also highlight interesting news in the toy and baby products markets and offers a source of customer comments and product information to help shoppers make informed choices about their purchases.
Toys "R" Us acquired the Toys.com domain name in March - Internet Retailer reported that it paid $5.1 million at auction for the domain. The company also acquired eToys.com, babyuniverse.com, ePregnancy.com and FAO.com
Last month, Amazon.com entered into a settlement agreement in a lawsuit with Toys "R" Us after Toysrus.com, a subsidiary of Toys "R" Us Inc., had filed a lawsuit against Amazon.com in 2004 to protect its exclusivity rights in the Toy and Game and Baby Products categories on the Amazon.com platform.
