eBay confirmed it was working to resolve a bug that caused its system to list some listings in duplicate and said it would credit sellers who were charged extra as a result of the bug. eBay also confirmed that there was a bug that caused its system to delete the bodies of email messages sent to eBay through its messaging system, and said AuctionBytes was the one who brought the problem to its attention.
AuctionBytes reported the duplicate listings and email glitches on Wednesday in the AuctionBytes Blog.
eBay also confirmed that it has modified its shipping-caps policy in the media category that had gone into effect last August. eBay spokesperson John Pluhowski said, "Sellers in the media category can use the shipping calculator to specify actual shipping costs. This change was the direct result of customer feedback." You can read more about this issue in Monday's AuctionBytes Blog post.
