eBay has expanded its Buyer Protection Policy to include additional payment services. In 2007, eBay had eliminated buyer-protection for all transactions except for those using its own PayPal payment service. Now eBay is extending buyer protection to the three other electronic-payment services allowed on eBay: Paymate, ProPay and Moneybookers, as well as its Bill Me Later service, which it acquired in 2008. In addition, eBay Buyer Protection will also cover credit card transactions.
Garrett Gafke, CEO of Paymate, said, "eBay's extension of the Buyer Protection Policy to include Paymate reinforces both companies' shared goals for customer service and the continued push in providing the safest online marketplace worldwide."
