Alibris said it established a record number of new business partnerships in 2009 and is working on more new partnerships for 2010. Eight new business partnerships launched by Alibris in 2009 bring the total partner count to 16. According to the company, "With longtime partnerships with Barnes & Noble, Borders, Chapters Indigo, and many other brick-and-mortar stores and e-commerce sites, and with ongoing successful efforts to establish new partnerships, Alibris strengthens its position as the marketplace for independent sellers who seek consistent sales growth."
In 2009, Alibris established promising business partnerships with the following businesses: Akademos; Better World Books; BookRenter; Buy.com; Chegg; Coutts; eBay; Waterstone's. Alibris said it expects to announce three or four additional partnerships in the first quarter of 2010, and looks forward to besting their record for new sales partnerships by the end of the year.
