Bonanzle announced it has reached 200,000 registered users. Spokesperson Mark Dorsey said the arrival of so many new "Bonanzlers" has created an opportunity to leverage the company's growing community of sellers into a better buying experience.
Switchboard is one such example, according to Mr. Dorsey. Switchboard enhances real time chat between any two Bonanzle users. It also informs buyers when real time events are starting on the site, such as Bonanzas and pricing discount games. Switchboard also integrates with another new feature, Roundtable Questions, which allows buyers to ask any question about merchandise and get rated answers from the selling community.
"All of these exciting features are being made possible by the growth of the community, and by the tendency of many of our users to linger on Bonanzle and treat it as much like a cafe as a mall," said Mr. Dorsey. "We see an opportunity to build something that keeps people engaged for a longer, more enriching experience than the simple search/click/search/repeat they'll get elsewhere."
