ProStores merchants experienced a 35% year-over-year increase in sales (GMV) from 2008 to 2009, according to Lin Shearer, Head of Marketing and Revenue at ProStores. Mr. Shearer revealed the statistic in a podcast interview with AuctionBytes to discuss the new features released in Version 9.3.2.
ProStores is eBay's ecommerce-hosting solution that allows online sellers to set up their own Web store. The service charges a monthly fee plus a commission fee on completed sales. ProStores integrates with eBay, and integration with other marketplaces is available through Merchant Advantage, according to Mr. Shearer.
New features include an improved Checkout experience for customers, and with a new Category Promotions feature, ProStores merchants can now offer "percent off" or "flat amount" discounts on an entire category or subcategory of products.
Site traffic and sales metrics are available through the new Analytics manager in ProStores. that offer at-a-glance summary trends on the analytics dashboard, or more detailed sales and visits information displayed in tabular chart and line chart graphics. Metrics included are:
