Six auction users who purchased fake sports memorabilia are suing eBay and seeking class-action status. (Industry Standard, May 8, 2000 p.73) I know that in the past, eBay has compared itself to the hall in which the auction takes place as opposed to being the auctioneer, so it will be interesting to see what the courts say.
