By David Steiner

We're pleased to announce that Toby Aulman will be joining Harriet Wintermute as co-moderator of the AuctionBytes Glass Discussion Forum. Toby's main area of interest is pressed glass from the Depression Era of the late 20's and 30's on into the 70's. Toby writes for AuctionBytes (check out his article this week on "Commonly Misused and Confused Glass Terms) and runs his own Web Design business http://www.abzoid.com. Stop in if you would like to share some pictures of your collection or have any questions! You won't be able to slip many fastballs by this duo! http://www.auctionbytes.com/forum/phpBB/viewforum.php?forum=14&4

2) FreeForm Customizable Auction Template
By David Steiner

Posted by Barkingspider in the AuctionBytes Forum:

>>>>>In an ongoing effort to make our auctions more professional I stumbled onto this. It is a very customizable auction template. I have tinkered with it for several days in my spare time (Yeah Right!). Yesterday I loaded 40 auctions with it in various configurations with absolutely no problems at all. Here is a link to the site: http://robshelp.hypermart.net/Builder/FreeForm.cgi?remove&website&7#S_7_CHOICES_HASH <<<<<

FreeForm is written by Rob Bell and it's a very nice tool for building eBay auction listings. There are several options when using FreeForm: You can build your auction without logging into the Site, and cut and paste your description into eBay's forms, or you can save your description on Rob's site (choice of secure or unsecure server) and save your completed listing to be loaded onto eBay later on.

It's a tool that can be used for free, however the Site developer is asking for $1 per month for people who will be using it on a regular basis. Not a bad deal!

Thanks for the tip, Barkingspider! For more tips like these, visit the AuctionBytes Discussion Forums at: http://www.auctionbytes.com/forum/phpBB/index.php

4) New Site for Collectors: HaveNeed.com
By Ina Steiner

HaveNeed is a new Web site where collectors can inventory what they have, acquire things they need and sell items. CEO Morris Weiss founded the site to operate as a peer-to-peer (P2P) model in which it matches up buyers and sellers and receives a transaction fee.

The cornerstone of HaveNeed's model is obtaining data for various categories of collectibles in order to create a library of information to make it easier for the collector. Weiss explained that the "Reference Library" is a database of uniform description of items (based upon catalog number or UPC Code, along with other distinctive characteristics, in the instance of music) so that there becomes one way for the item to be listed in Have, Need and Sell lists. The purpose is to greatly increase the likelihood that Needed items will be found, and also to facilitate the creation of Have and Sell lists.

This site is in its very early stages, so if you check it out, why not email them and let them know what you think. http://www.haveneed.com
