On your mark, get set, now go and adjust your clocks! It's Daylight Savings here in North America, and time to set our clocks ahead one hour. Maggie the Auction Hound and I are excited to get some extra daylight for our evening strolls.
It seems that so much happens in the two weeks (or in this case, three weeks) between newsletters. Please check our site daily for news stories, or better yet, subscribe to the daily AuctionBytes Newsflash newsletter by sending a blank email to

Past articles about online auction fraud have been popular, and I plan to write more articles about how people can AVOID online auction fraud. It would help me to know how bidders evaluate auction descriptions, and perhaps I can put a top 10 list together of warning signs. I've started a thread on the Online Auction Sites Forums if you have a moment, please post your suggestions here:

I'm pleased to announce that the online auction industry has a new place for people to advertise their wares and their wants!
AuctionBytes Buyers Market is a new service where you can place an ad and point people to your auctions, storefronts, Web sites, and even brick and mortar stores! And if you have a want list, you can advertise that as well. We even have an "eBay picker" who is advertising on Buyers Market. An eBay picker is someone who hunts for treasures at estate sales and sells them to other people to sell on eBay.
The idea for Buyers Market came from many places, and David nurtured the idea from concept to today's launch. We are indebted to AuctionBytes forum moderators & participants for encouraging us. We are especially grateful to those who acted as guinea pigs for early test versions.
The Buyers Market ads are like mini Web sites, and you can update them whenever you’d like. Our goal has always been to help people sell online, and I hope that Buyers Market will become an important part of that effort. David describes the Buyers Market in more detail in this issue and explains how to get your own classified for free during our 2-week trial offer! (You only have 5 days to take advantage of this free offer, so don't put it off.)
