This & That
1) eBay Makes Enhancements to Sell Your Item 2.0 Form
By Ina Steiner

eBay Makes Enhancements to Sell Your Item 2.0 Form eBay said it is introducing a number of enhancements and upgrades to the Sell Your Item 2.0 listing form this week. Among the changes you can expect to see are:

  • Better data retention when switching between listing formats - all information that is not format-specific will be retained.
  • Preferences page for Pictures options, accessible from My eBay or Sell Your Item 2.0.
  • Default of country field set to the site of the seller's registration, which will simplify the Pictures & Details page and decrease download times.
  • Minor design changes to increase ease of use.

The previous Sell Your Item form will eventually be removed.

2) Dumpster Diving: Not for the Faint of Heart
By Ina Steiner

Dumpster diving is one of those topics that can cause as much heated discussions as politics or religion. Is it legal? Is it safe? Is it ethical? Is it practical or is it "eew, gross!"?

There's a discussion going on right now in the TIAS Collector's Newsletter forum about Dumpster Diving and lost opportunities. The discussion goes so far as to suggest a dumpster-diving wannabee dump her dumpster-fearing hubby! http://www.auctionbytes.com/forum/phpBB/viewtopic.php?mode=viewtopic&topic=1462&forum=16&start=0

For a book on dumpster diving, check out this guide published in 1993. "The Art & Science of Dumpster Diving," by John Hoffman 1993, 81/2 x 11, 152 pp., illustrated, photographs, soft cover. Price: $ 14.95 http://www.loompanics.com Click on Retail Catalog and then Search for Dumpster Diving.
