5) PKBooks Offers eBay-Approved Book Appraisals
By Ina Steiner
PK Books has created an Appraiser's Network for book appraisals approved by eBay. The qualifications for becoming a PKBooks Network Appraiser are:
- Have a minimum of 10 years in the book business;
- Be a member of one or more of the following: the ABAA, the ABA, the ILAB, the ASA or various state and regional Antiquarian Book Associations
NOTE: This has caused some controversy. Some sellers are concerned there may be a conflict of interest on the part of PKBooks appraisers who are also eBay dealers. This does not necessarily mean there is a conflict, but remember, no appraiser should ever ask to buy the books she or he is appraising.
