This & That: Online Auction Roundup
1) eBay Author to Write ''Best'' Column
By Ina Steiner

Reminder: AuctionBytes does not endorse the products and services featured in the "This & That" column, which often features new Web sites. (Anyone can set up a Web site.) Fraud is becoming widespread in the online auction world, and you should think twice before giving private information or User IDs and passwords to any third party.

Marsha Collier, author of "eBay for Dummies" and two other eBay Dummies titles, said she is a contributing writer to a new magazine called "BEST The Guide to Buying Life's Best Stuff." Collier said she will be writing about getting deals online, mostly on eBay. The first article is about high-ticket items sold on eBay for less. The magazine will be available November 3 at Borders and Barnes & Noble nationwide.

By Ina Steiner

Rosemary Rubin and Bob Lichty hosted a cross-country tour of the old Lincoln Highway in August. A caravan of cars, many of them antiques and classics, traveled between 185 - 225 miles each day from New York to San Francisco to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the highway dedication.

5) eBayersThatSuck.com Featured on Public Radio
By Ina Steiner

6) AuctionContact Joins eBay Developer Network
By Ina Steiner

AuctionContact announced it has become an eBay Certified Developer. AuctionContact allows eBay sellers to inform their customers about new items they are offering. This is done through automatically generated emails that are sent to subscribed customers on a weekly basis. The e-newsletters contain a list of the seller's current auctions with end-dates and times, current prices and direct links to the auction pages. The service added two new features. Sellers can choose if they want their gallery pictures to appear in the newsletters. And sellers will be able to manually pick auctions they want to feature in the newsletter (if they don't, first 25 items will be picked automatically).

You may quote up to 200 words of any article on the condition that you attribute the article to AuctionBytes.com and either link to the original article or to www.AuctionBytes.com.
All other use is prohibited.
