2) eBay's ToolBar Offers Security Feature
By Ina Steiner
eBay said it has developed Account Guard, a new feature on the eBay Toolbar that identifies when you are on an authentic eBay or PayPal Web site and warns you when you are on a potentially fraudulent Web site. eBay Toolbar is a free, downloadable tool. Note: Some people don't like toolbars because of privacy concerns. Using eBay's toolbar requires you to download software and utilizes memory resources on your computer, so use common sense about whether this is right for you (and your computer). Here's a useful review of toolbars: http://www.infotoday.com/online/jan04/OnTheNet.shtml

6) Another Auction-Analytics tool: Auction Measures
By Ina Steiner
Auction Measures has launched a Beta version of a Web-analytics tool for auction sellers. The service promises to analyze auctions and provide users with statistics about their auctions, both in graphical and tabular format. A subscriber places a small amount of javascript code into their auction description. The code collects information on the auction number, title, start date, end date, duration, whether or not the auction is being watched, keywords used to find the auction, and numerous other pieces of data. The data is transmitted to centralized servers where it is aggregated. The service is free while in Beta, and will begin charging when it officially launches.
