See-Mees are a new tool designed for eBay sellers trying to increase their auction listings' visibility. Douglas Grant, the founder and chief designer of Grant Associates, says his company started using prototypes of See-Mees as eBay Gallery Pictures for their own auctions in the Fall of 2003. They noticed a significant jump in the number of hits their auctions were getting, with resulting greater volumes of bids and higher average selling prices.

By Ina Steiner
CheckFree Auction Payments launched a site where auction winners can actively search for the eBay auction they've won and initiate payment to the seller. If the seller is currently enrolled with CheckFree Auction Payments, completing payment is one click away. If the seller is not yet enrolled, buyers can use the site to automatically send the seller an enrollment invitation with their auction details. By Ina Steiner
ClassifiedBuyers.com is a new online-classified site with a built-in escrow service. Sellers place classified ads on the site, which allows buyers to peruse listings. Buyers can also place their own "wanted advertisements." ClassifiedBuyers has what it calls a "built-in payment and self-escrow service" called PayControl. Once a buyer and seller decide to do business and formalize an offer with a "purchase order," the buyer's funds are placed in "self-escrow." As the sale progresses, key details and milestones are displayed on the site, and both buyer and seller are kept informed through automatic email notifications. Delivery starts the clock running on a 7-day approval period, giving buyers the chance to evaluate the purchase and authorize the seller to be paid.
