Hello Ina,
You've probably heard all you wanted to about eBay's feedback, but I scrolled through a lot of the comments, and there are a few comments I did not see.
On the subject of limiting feedbacks from same trading partners - I believe this was done in order to avoid manipulating feedback. Two people could buy/sell a number of inexpesive items in order to build up a high number. Some of the unscrupulous sellers/buyers could then use this high number to present a good picture to an unsuspecting eBayer, and then de-fraud them. Perhaps there should be some column - besides positive ratings that could carry additional feedbacks from repeat trading partners, or comments from non-transactional eBayers. Maybe it could be some sort of extra credit.
One of the comments was from a buyer who complained that there is no reason for sellers to wait to leave feedback, once they have received payment. I realize payment is the primary area of concern, but buyer conduct if they are dissatisfied can be cause for a negative feedback. (That is not limited to feedback extortion, but could involve harassment of seller, unreasonable demands for refunds, etc.)
I like the idea of points for various aspects of the transaction, resulting in a final grade or rating. Thank you for taking on this difficult subject, and also for taking the time to read my comments.
Regards,
Carol
