In May we introduced a series called Industry Profiles (http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/pages/profiles), designed to introduce some of the pioneers of the online auction industry to our readers. So far, we've profiled nine interesting men and women, from sellers to CEOs of auction services, from authors to founders of online-auction industry forums. We plan to continue the series next year, and already have our next interview for late January "in the can." If you have anyone you'd like to see profiled, please send me a note. (Regretfully, we've never been able to get eBay's public relations department to agree to an interview with Meg Whitman or Pierre Omidyar.)
I'm happy to announce Forbes Magazine recently included AuctionBytes in their "Best of the Web" list in the "eBay Helpers" category (http://www.forbes.com/bow/b2c/category.jhtml?id=291). While it's nice to be recognized by a publication like Forbes, I have to say that it's just as satisfying to receive emails from readers who have written to tell me that they find the newsletter useful. We're glad you enjoy it!
A reminder that for the past 2 years, eBay has held Free Listing Days (FLDs) on December 26. There's no guarantee they will do so this year, however, and they generally give very short notice of FLDs - usually just a few hours. We'll be on watch in case there is a FLD and will send out an email notification via our NewsFlash newsletter.
I hope you are ready for the holidays. While online sellers may not have time to put up all the decorations they would like because they're fulfilling last-minute orders, I hope you'll take some time to enjoy the season. If you lived in our neighborhood, you would not have trouble remembering that the holidays are upon us. Beautiful lights decorate neighbors' houses. Across the street, our friends have the brightest, cheeriest display that would even warm Scrooge's cold heart.
As one of my favorite authors, Judith Katz-Schwartz (http://www.msjudith.net), said in her recent newsletter, Happy Christmahannukwaansakah to all. We'll see you in the New Year!
Thanks for reading.
