This & That: Online Auction Roundup
1) OTWA/AuctionBytes Classified Advertising Program
By Ina Steiner
Reminder: AuctionBytes does not endorse the products and services featured in the "This & That" column, which often features new Web sites. (Anyone can set up a Web site.) Fraud has become widespread in the online auction world, and you should think twice before giving private information or User IDs and passwords to any third party.
********
The Online Traders Web Alliance (OTWA) and AuctionBytes have partnered to offer classified advertisements that will appear on both websites for one special low rate and increase exposure for users of both sites. For $25, participants will receive a one-year classified ad on the OTWA Community Marketplace, and a one-year AuctionBytes Buyers Market ad. Users can advertise their auction listings, storefronts, businesses or individual items in the advertisements. The combined retail value of these classifieds exceeds $100.

6) USPS Charges Higher Fees for Credit-Card Funded Online Postage
By Ina Steiner
USPS apparently began charging online-postage vendors a higher fee for processing transactions funded with credit cards in June. As a result, online-postage vendors are requesting high-volume customers using low-margin postal services to change the way they fund their postage purchases.
