Reading AuctionBytes: AuctionBytes.TV Interviews BuySafe CEO about Online Fraud

AuctionBytes.TV has released an interview with BuySafe CEO Jeff Grass on its Internet television network. Grass discusses the problem of online auction fraud and how BuySafe works to protect eBay buyers. Grass said lawmakers are looking at ways to protect the public from online fraud, but said it would be better for the private sector to solve the problem.

Grass talked about a recent case in which the number-one feedback seller on eBay had to shut down its business suddenly, leaving some buyers without product. He reviewed the steps BuySafe took to make whole the customers of Glacier Bay DVD, which was a BuySafe bonded seller.

Grass also discussed Google's recent move into ecommerce with its Google Base and Google Payment services. The video interview can be seen on the AuctionBytes.TV Features channel.

Technical Note: The videos on ABTV are streaming from a Windows media server. We've had a few reports of issues with Mac users, who may only be able to receive the audio portion of the interviews. People using Windows Media Player can optimize the video stream for their connection. Windows Media Player's default setting is to detect the connection speed. If the video takes an inordinately long time to buffer, try setting your connection speed lower.

To do this, right-click on the video as its playing and click on "Statistics." This will give you the optimal settings for your Windows Media Player, which you can then adjust by right-clicking on the video again, clicking on "Options", and choosing the optimal connection speed.
