1) Swapping Site
By Ina Steiner

Reminder: AuctionBytes does not endorse the products and services featured in the "This & That" column, which often features new Web sites. (Anyone can set up a Web site.) Fraud has become widespread in the online auction world, and you should think twice before giving private information or User IDs and passwords to any third party.

2) Vote for eBay Best in Stores
By Ina Steiner

eBay kicked off a contest in March for the best eBay Stores. They've narrowed down the entries to four finalists in each category. You can vote for the best Stores at http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200604121523412.html. There will be a Grand Prize winner in each of three categories: Best Looking Store; Best Shopping Experience; and Best Store Marketing. http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200604121523412.html

3) Fundraiser Blog
By Ina Steiner

Richard Chemel is writing an excellent blog about charity auctions, online auctions, silent auctions, and live auctions for the site Fundraisers.com. http://www.fundraisers.com/auctionblog/index.html

4) Registry of Stolen Goods
By Ina Steiner

A service called Swift-Find says it is the largest global database of lost and stolen valuables online with over 420,000 items, including jewelry and watches, firearms, consumer electronics, and art and antiques. "Using Swift-Find, auction houses and dealers check in seconds whether items offered to them for sale are legitimate, and thus avoid hassle, expense and wasted time dealing with potential third party claims. Furthermore, by registering inventory and reporting items stolen from their businesses, Swift-Find partners enjoy protection against criminals trying to steal and then resell their property." http://www.swift-find.com
