Do you remember the first item you ever sold online? Let us know by sending an email to ina@auctionbytes.com and we may publish your story. Today we hear from Tammy, whose husband was at first a doubting Thomas and is now hooked on the thrill of the hunt.
My first items were actually my children's clothing they grew out of. My husband said, "That stuff won't sell." But it did. My husband and I then went to a thrift shop to buy more. He found an old Paymaster check printer and said, "I bet this would sell." I thought he was crazy. He asked the clerk how much she would take for it. The lady said 5 bucks. I listed it and it sold for $28. He was hooked after that.
We've found some awesome items at garage sales, and a few times we've made $400-$500 profits on one item. My favorite item we found was a Kiss lunchbox in near mint condition. He's always picking out things I would never think would sell, and yet we make a good profit on them. He has the eye for the good junk, I mean stuff.
