By Ina Steiner

Reminder: AuctionBytes-Update does not endorse the products and services featured in the "This & That" column, which often features new Web sites. (Anyone can set up a Web site.) 2) USPS Hikes' Impact on Overseas Book Sales
By Ina Steiner

We're just starting to hear about this proposal by the USPS to eliminate surface mail, an affordable way to send books overseas. An article on the American Booksellers Association website interviewed Phil Bevis of Arundel Books. "The bottom line, said Bevis, is that packages that used to be shipped overseas by boat will now ship via air, and this will drastically increase shipping costs for all international orders." 3) eBay Retiring Sellers Assistant on April 4
By Ina Steiner

eBay sent a letter to Sellers Assistant subscribers informing them that "with the recent release of Blackthorne 3.1, eBay has set April 4, 2007 as the official date to retire Seller's Assistant. If you have not yet made the move to Blackthorne, we encourage you to do so now. Blackthorne 3.1 uses a fraction of the memory of earlier versions and now runs faster in networked environments. If you tried Blackthorne in the past and it performed slowly on your computer, we urge you to try it again."

5) Wipbox.com
By Ina Steiner

A developer wrote in to say he had created a tool to help eBay sellers "do deeper research and build and place better listings on eBay." It's located at http://www.wipbox.com.
