This & That: Online Auction Roundup
1) eBay PowerSeller Blog
By Ina Steiner

Reminder: AuctionBytes-Update does not endorse the products and services featured in the "This & That" column, which often features new Web sites. (Anyone can set up a Web site.) Fraud has become widespread in the online auction world, and you should think twice before giving private information or User IDs and passwords to any third party.

Australian PowerSeller Nathan Huppatz publishes a blog with strategy discussion, ideas, suggestions and other articles. One post, for example, discusses the importance of writing good listing titles (http://tinyurl.com/2wbz8r). http://www.nathanhuppatz.com/ebay-powerseller-blog/

2) Independent Online Sellers' Conference
By Ina Steiner

The 2007 Independent Online Sellers' Conference is a seller-organized meeting of Amazon sellers. In its sixth year, it will be held in Seattle July 13-16. According to organizers, it is "the perfect place for sellers to network, meet face to face with Amazon.com executives, and preview third party tools and software developed specifically for the needs of online sellers." The registration fee is $250 from June 1 - 30 and $300 from July 1 - 13. http://www.sellerconference.com

3) Urgent Warning to eBay Sellers about New Fraud
By Ina Steiner

I wrote this blog post in March about a devious scam targeting eBay sellers, and the problem is still occurring (thanks to Greg for emailing me about it last week). Make sure you know about this type of scam so you can avoid it. http://tinyurl.com/yp2c79

4) Data Bytes: Effect of eBay Listing Promotions on Sales
By Ina Steiner

The latest Data Bytes article in AuctionBytes Newsflash examines whether eBay listing-promotions have any effect on sales. And we're getting some interesting comments from sellers about this article - check it out! http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y07/m06/i01/s02
