Do you remember the first item you ever sold online? Let us know by sending an email to ina@auctionbytes.com and we may publish your story. Today we hear from Dennis Clark whose first item sold is now Internet memorabilia (do we all remember what 5 1/4" disks and DOS are?).
Dear Ina,
I really enjoy your newsletter as a solid source of independent information.
I was going through some old boxes in my garage and I came across an old AOL disk. It was a 5 1/4" inch floppy and it was a version of AOL for DOS. I did a search on Ebay and found that there was some interest in AOL disks. I put it up for $.99.
It worked it's way up to about $4 with 4 minutes left to the auction. Much to my surprize, a bidding war started and it went to $31 when all was said and done. I have been hooked on selling ever since.
Thanks for all your work on producing your newsletter.
Sincerely,
Dennis Clark
