Stuart and Susan Welch have been selling vintage toys, photography equipment, pottery and porcelains on eBay for 7 years under the name MyRetroMoms and previously as Urban Miners. Stuart said Susan and he have spent years collecting treasures at auctions and sales, with special support from some friends on Antiques Roadshow on PBS. "Many of our toys and vintage collectables come right from the Pop Culture Appraisers, providing us with an incredible resource of information and quality products!"
Stuart and Susan branched out to Ruby Lane for a while and, this year, they set up the Pinkies Toys website to focus on a market they both enjoy: Vintage Toys and Pop Culture.
Stuart said, "I had the site developed with my design and want to offer a blend of Pop Culture and TV inspired toys as well as a collection of vintage and Mid-century items."
Stuart has been using Google AdWords and said he got traffic, but few sales. "Following the advice of guerilla marketeers, I set up Toy Chats and Blog sites, but I don't think that is driving people to my site."
Stuart and Susan are looking for advice to improve sales on PinkiesToys.com. "I feel I am missing something," Stuart said, "and I think your audience may be able to point me into the right direction. I have considered pricing, selection, navigation, difficulties in navigation etc. as all possible areas to examine."
