Do you remember the first item you ever sold online? Let us know by sending an email to ina@auctionbytes.com and we may publish your story. Today we hear from Mike who's first item sold on eBay for over one thousand dollars!

Hi Ina ..
Love the newsletter!!! Thought this might fit your "Do you remember the first item you ever sold online?" idea.

I was a broadcaster here in Canada for 30 years. As you might imagine I collected a few radio items along the way .. aside from a foolishly large LP collection numbering in the thousands. Many years ago I came across one of the old 1940's style microphones and years later found another. They have been long out of use but a great keepsake.

I joined eBay Christmas Day 2002 and was hooked! Like all of us, the first things sold on eBay are from our personal stash of odds and sods. I looked over at the microphone and thought .. hey, I can't take it with me .. let's see what eBay has to say. WELL, The RCA 44 BX microphone was getting very good money then and still does, as it's truly collectible. Within a month I had sold both microphones for approx $1,100.00 US each. Aside from helping to pay all the Christmas bills I was even more hooked.

As time when by I started selling a variety of items including selected LP's I had been moving around the country with me. I had the Beatles on the UK Parlophone label .. very impressive results again. Fast forward to now, I am an eBay Powerseller with approx 600 eBay feedbacks with a 99.7% positive average and still loving it.

I have a map with pins in it identifying where I have shipped items to .. just amazing. Places that include Hong Kong, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Poland, Australia, Mexico to name a few. I created a private site to help eBay sales www.ebaytreasures.com. It allows for more detail and larger pictures to help sell the eBay items.

I am thrilled with my results and can't imagine not using eBay. Thanks for listening & best wishes always.
Mike
