Everyone likes to save money. On Thursday, we wrote about BidPay's decision to lower pricing on its online payment service (http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y07/m08/i30/s04). BidPay can be used on ecommerce sites and on eBay, and its new fees are lower than PayPal's, except for transactions over $100,000.
You can find a list of online payment services, along with other resources, on the AuctionBytes website in our "Cool Tools" section in the left column. Look in today's issue about a significant change we've made to the Cool Tool charts so now vendors can update their information themselves whenever there are changes. (Hopefully companies will take a cue from BidPay and lower prices rather than raise them!)
In redesigning the charts, our programmer put in counters, and even more people are clicking through to services listed in the charts than we realized! Take advantage of these resources, and let us know if you have any feedback.
Most services have already been contacted about the changes, and have received their log-in information. If your service is included in the chart, and you haven't received your log-in info, contact David at dsteiner@auctionbytes.com. If you have a service that you would like to be added to the charts, go to http://auctionbytes.com/cgi-bin/charts/chart-login.pl?register and we will review your service for inclusion.
We first wrote about eBay's new crackdown on "bad" sellers shortly after the eBay Live conference in June (http://tinyurl.com/yoxrsq). Since then, more information has eked out of eBay about its new initiative in enforcing its Seller Non-Performance (SNP) policy. I've written extensively about it, as well as interviewing eBay T&S's Matt Halprin in an AuctionBytes Podcast, and appearing on eBay Radio on Griff's show to talk about what I've been hearing from sellers.
If you haven't been following, there are two blog posts - with comments from readers - worth reading:
On a lighter note, in today's issue we've got a follow-up to Lissa McGrath's April article on eCrater. I've been hearing a lot about this online marketplace from sellers, and I think this is one site worth watching.
Tomorrow is Labor Day in the United States. For all of you who work hard at your businesses and jobs everywhere, have a great day!
Thanks for reading.
