By Ina Steiner

Reminder: AuctionBytes-Update does not endorse the products and services featured in the "This & That" column, which often features new Web sites. (Anyone can set up a Web site.) Fraud has become widespread in the online auction world, and you should think twice before giving private information or User IDs and passwords to any third party.

********

Auctionblip is a service that automatically alerts users whenever their selected items become available at auction. Users enter their top ten "must have" wish list of collectibles of all types and receive detailed notification from Auctionblip once items are found, including the name of the auction house with the auction date, lot number, pictures and description of the item, and the link to the auction Web site. Costs $5.99/month.

2) Hoobly Classifieds Site
By Ina Steiner

Hoobly is a free classifieds site. Its local search feature works based on proximity to a user's determined location to give buyers freedom over where they search, versus other sites that limit users to most-populated cities. There's no charge, and the site says it has over 500,000 registered users.
