New Law May Prove Taxing for PayPal and for eBay Sellers
Online merchants face many challenges in running their business, and taxes and cash flow are top concerns. A new law will require payment card processors and third-party settlement organizations to report eBay sellers' and online merchants' transactions to the IRS beginning in 2011. Sellers have had many questions about the new law and have also wondered about certain PayPal practices around credit checks and holding payments. We checked in with PayPal and with an attorney in the payments field to learn more about these issues.

Babylon Mall Owner Uses Personal Touch in Vintage-Clothing Marketplace
Babylon Mall took a fresh approach to satisfying the needs of online sellers (and buyers). Founder Deb Whitten created a specialized site catering to sellers of vintage clothing and offers a flat monthly fee and personalized customer service. The small custom site (there are only 30 unique sellers) seems well suited for shoppers looking for vintage fashion items rather than today's mass-produced clothing and accessories. Just like vintage clothing and accessories, Babylon Mall stands out for being unique.
