Reading AuctionBytes: First Item Sold Online: Hollywood Mementos

Do you remember the first item you ever sold online? Let us know by sending an email to ina@auctionbytes.com and we may publish your story. Today we hear from John whose first eBay sale was a "Hollywood" experience.

Several years ago - maybe 9 or so - I found two great looking Joan Crawford large black-and-white photos with autographs from Joan to her hair stylist & name/address on the back of each one.

When eBay was just growing, I decided to put these on. I thought, well maybe 10.00 each or so. The one with Joan in a large hat went for 450.00, the other Joan with a smoke in her hand went for 300.00. I was hooked.

The days of finding these gems at garage sales are over, I guess, because of Antique Roadshow and eBay and other new..but it was fun.
John
