By Ina Steiner

Reminder: AuctionBytes-Update does not endorse the products and services featured in the "This & That" column, which often features new Web sites. (Anyone can set up a Web site.) Online fraud has become widespread, and you should think twice before giving private information or User IDs and passwords to any third party.

Toy Collector's new project, ToyPedia, will attempt to catalog every toy ever produced in every variant. ToyPedia will operate as a wiki, and no specialized qualifications are required in order to contribute. ToyPedia will allow users to filter and view content by criteria, such as manufacturer (i.e. Dinky Toys, Steiff), subject (i.e. Circus Toys, Napoleonic Figures), and type of model (i.e. models of Ferrari cars from any toy manufacturer). The software is designed to allow easy reversal of edits if a mistake creeps in, and there will be experts on hand to correct any obvious errors.
