1) Google Checkout Stores Widget

Online fraud has become widespread, and you should think twice before giving private information or User IDs and passwords to any third party.

Google Labs launched a "gadget" that lets users set up an online store powered by its Google Checkout online payment service. Sellers can embed a large version of the Google Checkout store gadget on their own website or on Google Sites - a free webhosting service - to act as the user's ecommerce store. Sellers may also embed a small version of the gadget on their blog or website.

2) eBay Says Traffic and Sales to eBay Stores Are Normal

As people reported experiencing a drop-off in traffic on eBay, the company addressed concerns through an announcement on its Systems Announcement Board. The company said that there is a problem in its eBay Stores tracking and reporting system, which is powered by Omniture. eBay reportedly rolled out a fix to the Google Base feed problem on July 30th.

3) Amazon Invites Hawaii Associates Back into Affiliate Program

Amazon.com has invited all Hawaii Associates whose accounts were closed due to the pending legislation concerning sales tax to re-enroll in the Associates Program.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission published a new guide for resellers dealing with compliance of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) of 2008.
