By Ina Steiner

Reminder: AuctionBytes-Update does not endorse the products and services featured in the "This & That" column, which often features new Web sites. (Anyone can set up a Web site.) Online fraud has become widespread, and you should think twice before giving private information or User IDs and passwords to any third party.

Don't forget that some major eBay changes take effect on Tuesday (including the change to shipping insurance and the requirement about adding and return policy & handling time to Good til Cancelled listings), here's a link to all of the changes eBay announced in July.

2) AppEagle Available on eBay SM Apps
By Ina Steiner

AppEagle is a tool for eBay sellers that will automatically revise, end and relist your listings based on the rules that you set. The program is available through eBay Selling Manager (see AuctionBytes explanation of eBay SMApps). A company spokesperson said, "Very basically, the app takes a sellers inventory, matches it to listings and adjusts the live quantity on eBay as inventory changes. This allows a seller to easily split their inventory among marketplaces or ensure that all of their inventory is always available for sale. There are several different rules a seller can set as to how the quantity is managed. The app will also end listings when inventory runs out and optionally relist a listing when inventory increases from 0." Link to website

3) BookFinder Releases Seventh Annual BookFinder.com Report
By Ina Steiner

The seventh annual BookFinder.com report is now available online. The report reveals the most sought after out-of-print books in America including the top Society/Culture, Fiction, Art's/Music books and more. It's useful if you're looking for hot titles to pick up at book sales and yard sales, but it's also a lot of fun to read as well! BookFinder.com is an ecommerce search engine that searches over 150 million books for sale - new, used, rare, out-of-print, and textbooks.

4) Elance Runs a "New Way to Work" Contest
By Ina Steiner

Elance is running a "New Way to Work" contest to recognize independent contractors, part-time or temporary staffers, or self-employed workers and businesses who are pioneering a new way to work - completely online. The winner will be announced on December 11, 2009, and will receive a year's worth of health insurance premiums or $10,000 in cash. See details on the Elance blog.

5) Endicia Launches PartnerSHIP Forward Program
By Ina Steiner

Internet postage service Endicia launched the PartnerSHIP Forward program designed to help companies enrich their relationship with current business partners by connecting with them via two pre-paid U.S. Postal Service Flat Rate boxes, compliments of Endicia. To start the program, Endicia has invited 20 current customers to take part. Details of the program are available on the program website.
