Auctionbytes-Update, Number 250 - November 01, 2009 - ISSN 1528-6703

AuctionBytes This & That Roundup
1) OneMarketplace.com for Listing on Multiple Websites
By Ina Steiner

Reminder: AuctionBytes-Update does not endorse the products and services featured in the "This & That" column, which often features new Web sites. (Anyone can set up a Web site.) Online fraud has become widespread, and you should think twice before giving private information or User IDs and passwords to any third party.

********

OneMarketplace allows users to list items for sale on multiple marketplaces like eBay, Amazon, Craigslist, Oodle, OLX and Vast using one form; and promote those listings on social networks like Twitter and Facebook (link).

2) eBay Takes Radio Shows In-house, Registration Required
By Ina Steiner

Starting November 3rd, listeners will access eBay Radio through eBay.com within the eBay Radio Group page instead of wsRadio.com. Over 16,000 people have already subscribed to the eBay Radio Group. The show will continue to air on Tuesdays from 11am to 2pm Pacific and Thursdays from 3pm to 5pm Pacific, with Jim "Griff" Griffith and Lee Mirabal as the show's hosts. Listeners must be registered eBay members and sign up for the eBay Group to gain access to each show (link).

3) New Radio Network for Online Sellers Features AuctionBytes News
By Ina Steiner

wsRadio has produced eBay Radio, eBay's official talk show, for over 6 and a half years, and is broadening its coverage with the launch of "The Independent Global Voice of Online Selling," The Online Sellers Radio Network. The Network will be broadcast live and will be available for 24/7 on demand listening and podcast on iTunes - no charge and no need to register. The Network features a new program covering multi-channel selling, product-sourcing, and email and online marketing, and featuring AuctionBytes News read at the top of the hour (link).

4) Microsoft Discontinues Accounting Software, Shuts off eBay Integration
By Ina Steiner

Microsoft Office Accounting will no longer be distributed after November 16, 2009, according to the company website. The software had integrated with eBay and PayPal, and PCWorld Magazine reports that services such as eBay and Equifax tie-ins will no longer work as of December 15, 2009. (Link to Microsoft Office Accounting website.)

5) UK Postal Striking Continues
By Ina Steiner

The UK postal strike woes, which we wrote about here, continue. Parcel2Go is giving eBay UK sellers a 5% discount if they put the Parcel2Go logo into their listings (link), and MyHermes is offering eBay sellers a 10% discount on their deliveries during the Royal Mail strikes in the UK (link).
