The Australia Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) updated its website to inform the public that it anticipates "indicating its view" on eBay's notification of its PayPal-only policy in mid June, prior to the June 17th when the policy goes into effect (http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y08/m04/i10/s01). The ACCC said it has sought eBay's views on the submissions it has received, and requested that eBay provide these comments by May 23, 2008.
In the meantime, sellers are furious that eBay Australia has put May 29th on the SYI form as the date the site will become PayPal only:
eBay and PayPal are making buying on eBay safer. Effective 24 April 2008, all sellers must offer PayPal as a payment method in their listings. Starting 29 May 2008, PayPal will be the only payment option sellers can offer in listings.
