Ecommerce platform provider Infopia has raised $12 million in a Series C financing round. It will use the funds as working capital to accelerate the execution of its current business plan - launching the new Infopia Transact eCommerce platform. The company also said it would pursue strategic acquisition opportunities.
Infopia CEO Bjorn Espenes said the new platform is an open system and leverages the company's more than 8 years of experience helping multi-channel, online merchants successfully grow their businesses. Infopia will unveil the new platform on June 10 at 4 pm in Chicago, where Infopia is exhibiting at the Internet Retailer conference.
Speakers at the launch event include Sam Wheeler from Amazon Services; Todd Lutwak from eBay; John Brandt from Google; Lars Noreng from NextWorth; and Sati Hillyer from salesforce.com. Merchants, media, and partners are invited to attend and can register at http://www.infopia.com/ecommerce.
The funding round was led by UV Partners and includes previous investors Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, Trident Capital, and TransPacific Captial Partners. Blake Modersitzki of UV Partners, recently joined the Board of Directors at Infopia.
Infopia did not reveal possible acquisition targets. Rival ChannelAdvisor acquired Marketworks last year, and Vendio acquired the assets of Andale in 2006.
