eBay is kicking off its 3-day Developer's Conference on Monday for eBay, PayPal, Skype, Shopping.com and ProStores. eBay DevCon speakers will be addressing the importance of open platforms in improving user experiences, boosting customer loyalty and engagement, and helping entrepreneurial developers monetize their applications by taking advantage of leading ecommerce API platforms on the Web. eBay will reveal its hush-hush "Project Echo" for the eBay platform today during the keynote address that kicks off at 9:30 am Central time.

Keynote speakers throughout the event include Mike Shaver, Chief Evangelist for Mozilla Corporation; Adam Gross, Vice President, Platform and Developer Marketing at Salesforce.com; Tony Hsieh, CEO of Zappos.com; John Donahoe, CEO and President of eBay Inc.; Rajiv Dutta, president of eBay Marketplaces; James Barrese, Vice President of Systems and Architecture at eBay; Max Mancini, Senior Director of Platform and Disruptive Innovation at eBay.

eBay will also announce winners of its Star Developer awards on Monday, including winners for most innovative application and service to the developer community (for both eBay and PayPal).

AuctionBytes will be covering the eBay Developers Conference and the annual eBay Live user conference (June 19 - 21) at http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/ebaylive2008 and will cover news and events through articles, blog posts, podcast interviews and photos.
