Reading AuctionBytes: Alibris and Abe Bookseller News

Alibris has made changes to its seller storefronts. Buyers get to storefronts by clicking seller names wherever they appear on the Alibris website, including search results, and sellers may link directly to their storefronts.

Alibris Gold sellers can also personalize their storefront by presenting or hiding contact information; adding a description of their business; displaying a photo; and featuring selected items from their listings.

Alibris also announced it is expanding its pilot program with Half.com. Beginning this month, it is increasing the number of items offered on Half.com from about 2 million to tens of millions of seller items.

Meanwhile, AbeBooks.com recently announced that its Gojaba.com marketplace for used, rare and out-of-print books is expanding to serve Brazil. Launched in February and initially introduced in Russia and Sweden, Gojaba.com has over 500,000 books for sale from over 130 booksellers in 16 countries. Gojaba.com is designed to handle multiple alphabets and currencies for rapid expansion into new markets.
