eBay has been experiencing a glitch with its seller feedback "DSRs" since Wednesday and said it would disable the Seller Dashboard to help fix the technical issue. In addition, eBay removed "trust factors," which include DSRs, buyer satisfaction rating, and shipping cost, from its Best Match search algorithm so sellers would not be promoted or demoted unfairly in search results. eBay said it would not calculate PowerSeller discounts or Best Match standings until the recalculation is complete and the DSR averages have been verified.
Sellers began reporting problems with the way the Seller Dashboard displayed their DSR scores last week. DSRs are tied to discounts and to exposure of their listings in search. eBay had initially reported the problem resolved on Thursday.
Update 8/11/08: eBay announced early this morning that it has corrected all DSRs and has restored the Seller Dashboard, but said it would continue to leave "trust factors" out of the Best Match search algorithm, at least through the end of the week.
