Overstock.com told auction users on Friday it would have its third-party payment integration feature ready for use on November 3, 2008. The company is using a third-party vendor called CardinalCommerce to integrate PayPal and Google Checkout on the Overstock Auctions platform.
Doug Minnick, Director of Auctions for Overstock.com, said a more formal explanation of the integration will be available the last week of October. "There will be no additional fees to Sellers for this upgrade," he said. "They will however have to continue to pay their merchant fees to PayPal and Google Checkout."
When asked whether a shopper would be able to make purchases from multiple sellers in one checkout flow, he said, "Currently I don't believe that will be possible. The first phase is a great leap forward for Overstock Auctions."
