eBay's ecommerce-hosting service ProStores has been plagued by outages for the past few weeks. "My site is up and down more often than a elevator these days," wrote one frustrated merchant on the ProStores discussion board Wednesday. The problems began in mid-September, and ProStores experienced severe outages this week.
A merchant who has been a ProStores customer for over two years said, "We have had outages for several days in the past 30. Yesterday and today, our stores have been down completely. This hurts us badly in so many ways. Prostores has been completely vacant on customer service. I have been in contact with them at least 10 times in the last 30 days because of this and they never have answers." He said ProStores has refused to reimburse for down time.
Lin Shearer, Senior Marketing Manager, posted a letter on the Announcement Forum on Wednesday afternoon, writing, "I know there is very little I can say at this point to alleviate the pain you have experienced the last few weeks." There was no mention of fee credits to reimburse merchants whose sites had been inaccessible due to the technical outage.
